Roofing Before & After in Fort Worth, TX
A roof can look passable from the street and still be failing where it matters. Our project gallery shows what actually changes when a Birchbark crew tears off the old and installs the new, nail by nail, valley by valley. These are the kinds of transformations we handle every month across Fort Worth, from Crestline to Wedgwood to Ryan Place. The photos show the before, the after, and the in-between details most roofers hope you never climb up to check.
Styles & brands we work with

Recent Transformations
Hail-Damaged Composition Shingle Replacement in Wedgwood
Spring hail had peppered the entire south-facing slope, leaving shingles with soft spots and missing granules. We filed the storm damage documentation, tore off the old material down to the decking, replaced two sheets of water-damaged plywood, and installed a full Owens Corning Duration system with new underlayment and drip edge. The homeowner now has a written list of every material used and a roof that sheds water like it should.
Low-Slope Roof Tear-Off and TPO Install Near TCU
A mid-century ranch near TCU had a low-slope section that had been patched by three different companies, and every patch eventually lifted at the seam. Birchbark removed the old layers, added tapered insulation to fix the pooling, and heat-welded a fully adhered TPO membrane. The ponding water that used to sit for days after a Fort Worth downpour now drains within minutes, and the white membrane keeps that west-facing room noticeably cooler.
Chimney Flashing Repair and Partial Re-Deck in Arlington Heights
The homeowner first noticed a water stain on the ceiling after a prolonged summer storm. We traced it to failed chimney flashing and a seam in the decking that had been absorbing moisture for years. The crew replaced the rotted section of deck, installed new step and counter flashing around the chimney, and re-shingled the surrounding course so the repair blends with the rest of the roof. The attic is dry, and the stain is gone.
Full Tear-Off with Steel Upgrade on a 1960s Ranch
The original wood shake roof had lasted sixty years, which is exactly why the homeowner wanted replacement material that would never need another tear-off. We removed every shake, laid down a high-temperature underlayment, and installed a standing-seam steel roof from IKO with concealed fasteners. The lower profile and matte charcoal color updated the ranch without shouting, and the homeowner now owns a roof rated for decades of North Texas sun and hail.
Ventilation Correction During Whole-Roof Replacement
The previous roof had almost no functional ventilation, and the attic heat was baking shingles from below, cutting years off their life. During the full replacement, Birchbark cut a continuous ridge vent, added soffit baffles, and confirmed the airflow math on the intake-to-exhaust ratio. The new GAF Timberline shingles now have a fighting chance, and the homeowner’s July cooling bill dropped in the first month.
Storm-Damaged Siding Transition and Roof Edge Repair on the Near Southside
Wind damage doesn’t always show up as missing shingles. On this Near Southside craftsman, the eave shingles had lifted enough to let water run behind the gutter, and the fascia behind the gutter was rotting in sections. Our crew replaced the fascia, installed new drip edge, and nailed a proper starter course before laying the field shingles in CertainTeed’s Weathered Wood. The gutter now sits flush, and the water path from roof to downspout is uninterrupted.
